AA Central Office of Southern Oregon

Fellowship Dinner

There will be a Fellowship Dinner this Saturday, January 28, at the Rogue River Valley Grange. See flyer for details.

Welcome to the AA Central Office of Southern Oregon

Central Office, by A.A. tradition, is a service organization. It’s often the first point of contact with A.A. for people who believe they may have a drinking problem. When anyone calls, an AA member at Central Office answers the phone to provide information or help.

According to G.S.O. Guidelines, "A central office is established to carry out certain functions common to all the groups–functions which are best handled by a centralized office–and it is usually maintained, supervised, and supported by these groups in their general interest. It exists to aid the groups in their common purpose of carrying the A.A. message to the alcoholic who still suffers."

As the communications center for AA meetings in Josephine County and neighboring areas, Central Office maintains a roster of volunteers who answer the phone, provide AA books and literature and answer questions the public has.

Central Office is governed by it's bylaws. Rogue Central Office's guidelines were last updated April, 2011. They can be viewed here.

Volunteers at Central Office answer the phones from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every weekday. Central Office receives calls:

Central Office volunteers stock and sell AA approved literature (books and pamphlets), and also update and distribute free meeting lists.

After 4:00 p.m. Central Office phones are turned over to an answering service that informs people about AA meetings, and if requests for help are received, calls Central Office volunteers for these people in order to provide help, such as 12-step calls.

Central Office also provides information to local high schools, treatment centers, and jails and institutions about Alcoholics Anonymous.

Donate to Central Office

AA Central Office of Southern Oregon is presently not financially able to perform a lot of services, as we operate solely on contributions. We would like to bring our AA community more AA activities, events, and information. As contributions have been pretty minimal lately, we haven’t been able to provide Josephine County with all the services we would like to. If you would like to help us help you and the newcomer, please consider donating. To donate, please stop by Central Office with a contribution or print, fill in and send in an AA Southern Oregon Central Office Contribution Form.  Thank you.
